This month we’re very excited to introduce you to Olga Babayan, our Office Administrator (and Kaminario cheerleader) in our Needham office. Olga is truly the face of our MA headquarters, the first person we see when we walk in and the last when we walk out. She’s always willing to help others, and is extraordinary at what she does for the team. She not only works here in Needham but also lives here with her husband and 4 year old son, Misha.
A bit about your role and what your son thinks you do at Kaminario
I have been a part of the K Family since May 2017. I am the Needham office administrator working along side our fantastic Office Manager, Courtney Settlers. In addition to performing administrative tasks, I also oversee HR, finance, IT and operations on a day to day basis. For example I help with onboarding new employees, directing office culture, managing perks, shipping and logistics and even solving security issues. Kaminario means a lot to me; it’s an amazing place with a fast paced environment and friendly atmosphere. I love how people perform their jobs at a high level and commit to the company’s success.
I’ve been lucky enough to bring my son, Misha, to our beautiful headquarters, when he walked in he said, “Mommy your workplace is so interesting and a much more colorful place than my school.” Needless to say, he can’t wait to go to work one day. He also thinks that all day long while I’m at work, I just look at my two monitors and play LEGO at our LEGO meeting table.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day?
The people I work with! I’ve never seen so much energy, passion and dedication in people. I am very lucky to work for Kaminario and genuinely excited to come to work every day, it’s a great team that works here. Throughout my career at Kaminario, I have found good friends and mentors that I am thankful for and people who I can learn new things from every day. Kaminario is truly like a second family to me.
What three hashtags describe your personality?
#independent #logical #reliable
What do you like to do for fun?
My fun time is the time spent with my family! Considering my job and dedication to the calendar, weekends are usually planned well in advance. We always try to get out of the house and do something every weekend. It could be anything from travelling to Cape Cod, day trip to the farm, trampoline park, museum, city excursion, zoo, fair, library, visiting friends and family, camping, to even ice-skating. We also love to barbeque as a family which is usually what we do if we choose to stay home.
Can you think of one example that shows how you or your team managed to conquer what seemed like an impossible task at first.
Last year we were planning a Halloween party as part of the company’s culture events. We are a small company and our biggest fear was that people would just ignore the idea, wouldn’t participate or our effort would fail. Thankfully after some strategic planning, excitement and a little brainstorming, we managed to engage almost all employees to participate. People showed up to work in unique handmade costumes, they had fun playing games, even ate fun Halloween snacks and truly had a fantastic time. The party was a success and everyone still (almost a year later) talks about it. This is just one example of how great our team is and of course how proud we are of it.
If you could choose, what would be your super power?
I speak fluent English & Russian but as a superpower, I would love to speak all the languages in the world.
We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about Olga, you can learn more about her here on her LinkedIn. Please stay tuned to our blog for the next Kaminario Employee FLASH Light.
